This Genuine or Counterfeit app, developed by De Nederlandsche Bank, helps you check euro banknotes.

Have you got an odd-looking banknote? This app will check it for you in a matter of seconds.

Place the banknote on a flat surface. The app takes a picture and compares it with information on genuine banknotes. Swipe to select the note you want to check. The app switches automatically between the old and new series. It tells you whether the banknote is OK. If the app is unable to verify whether the note is genuine, it will show a message. This means the note is either counterfeit or too crumpled or worn to be tested. Double-check it yourself using the look, feel and tilt method. Also make sure that your phone software is up to date.
